Kim Jisoo was born on January 3, 1995, in Gunpo (a satellite city of Seoul), Gyeonggi, South Korea. She is the youngest of three children. She has both an older brother and an older sister.

Her dog is named Dalgom. From a young age, Jisoo was interested in performing. She learned to play the drums and the piano, but not the guitar. In 2011, successful auditions led to her joining YG Entertainment as a trainee.

She continued her training in the entertainment industry for the next five years. A cameo in the KBS2 drama The Producers occurred in 2015.

On August 16, 2016, Jisoo was presented as the third member (of four total) of the new K-pop group BLACKPINK. The group debuted their single album, Square Up, on August 8, 2016. Square Two, their second single album, was released on November 1, 2016. The success of both albums led to Billboard magazine naming BLACKPINK one of the best new K-pop groups of 2016.

On August 30, 2017, their self-titled album was released in Japan. Kill This Love, their second full-length LP, was released on April 5, 2019. As their popularity continued to rise, Jisoo and her bandmates found themselves becoming international superstars, from Asia to Europe to America and beyond. Tours, interviews, and merchandizing have followed them around the globe. They are currently one of the top K-pop groups in the world.

Jisoo has a sparkling personality, which is reflected in the many fun details known about her life. She loves to laugh and make up funny nicknames for people. Her Chinese Zodiac sign is the dog.

She speaks Korean and Japanese, and although she is hesitant to speak English, she reportedly understands it quite well. Jisoo earned a white belt in taekwondo, and she enjoys inline skating and playing basketball (but she cannot ride a bicycle!). Pikachu is a major part of her life, as she collects Pikachu merchandise. Purple is her favorite color, and four is her favorite number.

She loves to eat rice. Jisoo considers herself to be a PC Gamer, and she loves to play the game Overwatch with her bandmate Jennie. All in all, Jisoo is a phenomenal performer and a fascinating part of one of the biggest girl bands in the world.

Singer and rapper Jennie was born as Kim Jennie in South Korea and is best known for her role in the South Korean girl group Blackpink.

Jennie is the only child in her family; at 9 years old, she studied abroad in Auckland, New Zealand at ACG Parnell College.

Jennie had a short stint in MBC’s “English, Must Change to Survive” documentary in which she talked about learning a new language from her personal experience. Then in 2010, she moved back to South Korea and auditioned for YG Entertainment, later being accepted and becoming a trainee.

She featured on Lee Hi’s 2012 song “Special” from Hi’s album First Love, and also appeared in the music video for “That XX” by Big Bang’s G-Dragon. She worked with G-Dragon again in 2013 on the single “Black” and made an appearance on Mnet’s M! Countdown for the same single on September 12th, 2013.

Jennie’s solo announcement was made official in October of 2018 and her “Solo” single was set to be revealed at the Blackpink In Your Area tour in Seoul before its official release on November 12th. “Solo” hit number one in South Korea and remained there for two weeks on both the streaming and digital charts on Gaon Chart.

The video to “Solo” passed over 300 million views on YouTube within 6 months of its release, making it the most viewed video by a solo female K-pop artist ever. Jennie went on to win as a solo artist on the November 25th broadcast of SBS’ Inkigayo.

Rosé, born as Park Chae Young in New Zealand, is a singer best known as being a member of the girl group Blackpink as well as her own solo singing career.

Rosé’s parents were South Korean immigrants and she has an older sister. When she was 7 years old, she and her family moved to Melbourne, Australia where she would attend Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College.

Rosé learned to play guitar, piano, and started singing when she was a young child and would perform in church choirs. She was encouraged by her father to go to an audition in Australia for YG Entertainment in 2012 when she was just 15 years old and ended up being ranked first among 700 other participants.

Two months later, she signed with YG Entertainment and moved to Seoul to begin her music career. It would immediately take off within the same year when she was asked to feature on G-Dragon’s “Without You” from the One of a Kind EP; however, she wasn’t credited until she was announced as a member of Blackpink in 2016.

“Without You” peaked at the number 10 spot on the Gaon Music Chart of South Korea and the 15th spot on the Billboard Korea K-pop Hot 100.

Rosé was a trainee with YG Entertainment for four years before June of 2016 when she was officially announced as the last member of Blackpink. Their debut album was Square One with the leading tracks “Boombayah” and “Whistle” on August 8th, 2016.

She has also made appearances on several music television shows such as Fantastic Duo 2 and King of Masked Singer. Her solo performances were received well by audiences; she had been concerned about that because her solo vocals differ from the style of Blackpink.

She is currently working on her formal solo debut, and her first solo single has already been selected, confirmed YG Entertainment in February of 2019. However, the single won’t be released until after Blackpink releases their second EP Kill This Love.
