About Davichi

Davichi is a South Korean pop, R&B duo. They’ve enjoyed great success since their debut date in 2008. The duo consists of Lee Hae-ri, a South Korean singer who is also well known for acting in musical theater productions. The second half of the duo is singer Kang Min-kyung, herself an actress also.

The duo debuted in 2008 and have released music all the way through 2018. Their music has been well received and risen to the top of the charts. They collected awards ranging from Rookie of the Month to Artist of the Year.

On February 4, 2008, they released their debut studio album titled Amaranth. The title track “I Love You Even Though I Hate You,” won Rookie of the Month on Cyworld Digital Music Awards.

From there, they released two more studio albums, six EP’s, and multiple singles. They’re also featured on three singles from other artists and collaborated with many more artists. They’re credited on several soundtracks as well.

In 2011, their label, Core Contents Media, announced that their entire new album, Love Delight, was leaked on the internet before its release. It quickly made the rounds on the internet; however, they decided not to change the release date which was August 29, 2011.

Davichi’s label then made an announcement that the duo was leaving their label to create their own independent company. They then retracted that statement less than one month later and announced they were indeed renewing their contracts with Core Contents Media.

On March 3, 2013, Davichi released a teaser music video featuring the new single “Turtle,” from their second studio album Mystic Ballad. The single reached number one on the Gaon Single Chart.

The duo’s contract was set to expire in 2014, and there was no renewal planned. They released their final studio album as a “parting gift” to their fans along with some previously unreleased tracks. Their last single with Core Contents Media was released on July 3, 2014. It was titled “Don’t Move.”

In early 2015, they released the mini-album, Davichi Hug, under their new label, CJ E&M. A digital single “White,” was released later in the year. In later 2016, their EP 50 x Half was released.

On January 16, 2018, Davichi released their third and final studio album to celebrate their 10-year anniversary. It was titled &10, with the title track “Days Without You.”

Davichi toured and performed concerts about once a year, coinciding with the release of their new music.
