About SS501

SS501 is a South Korean Kpop group that debuted with five members in 2005. Their debut EP Warning included the number single “Never Again.”

In late 2005, their mini-album Snow Prince was released. They won five Best New Group awards leading to their early popularity.

SS501 had their first concert “Step Up Concert” in Japan in 2006. They then returned to Korea and released their first studio album S.T 01 Now. They promoted the album on music and variety shows. The two singles from the album were “Unlock” and “Four Chance.” The group also did voice-overs for the movie “Pi’s Story.”

In 2007, SS501 was looking to expand to other countries and released their Japanese single “Kokoro.” It peaked at number three on the Oricon music chart. It was also chosen as the theme song for the anime “Blue Dragon.” The group’s full album titled SS501 was released in late 2017, and it received Japan’s Gold Disc Newcomer Award.

The group returned to Korea in 2008 with the release of their two singles “Deja Vu” and “A Song Calling For You” and the mini-album Find. They released their second Japanese album All My Love in 2009. They toured several countries promoting their new music.

In 2010, the group’s contract expired with DSP Media. No other agency would accept the group as a whole so they went on hiatus to pursue individual projects. They released the best collections album in Japan in 2014.
